This smoothie is a classic flavour combo that is sure to delight your little one’s taste buds time and time again. The blend of Greek yoghurt, ripe fruits and natural vanilla bean powder, creates a deliciously smooth ice cream like treat! Plus, the strawberries and banana make it a super rich source of vitamins, fibre and antioxidants for your growing babe.

SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS
(makes 1 serving)
- Porridge oats, 2 tbsp (+ 4 tbsp hot water)
- Strawberries, fresh or frozen, 4-5, depending on size
- Banana, half of
- Hemp seeds, 1 tsp
- Low fat Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt alternative), 2 tbsp
- (optional) Vanilla bean powder, a pinch
- Rice milk, ¼ to ½ cup
METHOD
- Add porridge oats and hot water to a small bowl, let soak for about 10 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
- Add soaked oats and all remaining ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a cup, optionally decorate with a sprinkle of hemp seeds and serve.
PUREÉ INGREDIENTS
(makes 1 serving)
- Porridge oats, 2 tbsp (+ 4 tbsp hot water)
- Strawberries, fresh or frozen, 4-5, depending on size
- Banana, ⅓
- Hemp seeds, 1 tsp
- Low fat Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt alternative), 2 tbsp
- (optional) Vanilla bean powder, a pinch
METHOD
- Add porridge oats and hot water to a small bowl, let soak for about 10 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
- Blend soaked oats along with all remaining ingredients into a smooth cream, using an immersion blender.
- Transfer to a cup, top with pieces of fresh strawberry and banana and a sprinkle of hemp seeds.
